Manchester Metrolink Engineering Works: 1st to 16th March 2025

There is more advanced notice of major engineering works taking place on the Manchester Metrolink network with services through the city centre set to affected by works for the first 16 days of March.

Between 1st and 16th March 2025 (normal services should resume from Monday 17th March) there will be works at York Street which will mean that no trams can run on 1CC (original city crossing along Mosley Street) between St Peter’s Square and Market Street/Piccadilly Gardens.

This will lead to a number of services diverted between St Peter’s Square and Victoria onto 2CC (Exchange Square) whilst there will also be other changes includes trams from Ashton being diverted to Crumpsall.

The full tram service due to operate is:

Monday to Saturday

Bury to Altrincham via Exchange Square (at peak times this will run every 6 minutes to give the usual service frequency on these lines, just the all day service won’t be going into Piccadilly)

Eccles to Deansgate-Castlefield via MediaCityUK

Ashton-under-Lyne to Crumpsall

Etihad Campus to Victoria

Rochdale Town Centre to East Didsbury via Exchange Square

Shaw & Crompton to East Didsbury via Exchange Square (peak service)

Manchester Airport to Deansgate-Castlefield

The Trafford Centre to Cornbrook

Sunday

Bury to Altrincham via Exchange Square

Eccles to Deansgate-Castlefield via MediaCityUK

Ashton-under-Lyne to Crumpsall

Etihad Campus to Victoria

Rochdale Town Centre to East Didsbury via Exchange Square
