No trams will run between Wilkinson Street and The Forest on Sunday 26th January 2025 to allow for essential repair works to take place. Nottingham Express Transit will be operating replacement buses between the two stops to ensure people are able to continue with their journeys.
Trevor Stocker, Head of Operations at NET, explains more about the works: “We’re always committed to ensuring our tracks remain in optimum condition to ensure the smooth operation of our network, as well as optimal safety and reliability for our tram users. The upcoming track works are a key part of that. Some of our tram tracks have been in operation for over twenty years, which can naturally mean wear and tear can occur. As such, essential works such as the ones taking place on 26th January, are vital for the ongoing maintenance of the network.
“As with all our maintenance work, we always aim to keep disruption levels to a minimum, but we understand the inconvenience these works will cause tram users, and thank them for their patience. However, we’re pleased to be able to offer a replacement bus service, and we’re advising all tram users to allow additional time for their journeys.”
Trams will continue to operate:
- Clifton South/Toton Lane to The Forest
- Wilkinson Street to Hucknall/Phoenix Park
The replacement bus service will run along Radford Road (usually only used by trams heading from Wilkinson Street to The Forest) with passengers who usually use Noel Street, Beaconsfield Street and Shipstone Street directed towards the bus stops on Radford Road for their journeys. The buses will run approximately every 10 minutes.
