Once again we have an edition of “Trams &” and it comes to you from Blackpool this time out.
We see Blackpool Flexity2 018 in this photo as it comes around the Metropole Hotel on the segregated section of on-road running on this part of the tramway. This is the newest of all the trams in Blackpool and received special adverts in June 2024 for the opening of the North Station extension to publicise the excellent interchanges now available.
The tram is just being passed by a bus which was visiting the area for Bus Driver of the Year. It’s an Enviro 400 bus which was delivered to Manchester originally in 2009 and was operated by Stagecoach on their routes. In 2024 it received this special retro livery recalling the days that orange buses dominated the Greater Manchester area.
