Across to the Isle of Man for this edition of “Trams &”.
This photo was taken at Laxey Station on the Manx Electric Railway and shows a couple of trams which operate on the line along with a car posed for photos during an event to celebrate 130 years of the MER.
Stabled in the station siding are Tunnel Car 7 and original motor 1. The Tunnel Car – in the blue and white livery – was to be used for Motorman Taster lessons and is seen being prepared for that here, it would then leave south before crossing over at the car sheds and going back north for the lesson. On the other-hand 1 would spend the day here having bought dignitaries from Douglas.
They are joined by a bright yellow car which is parked in front of 1. This is a Hillman Imp Super which was first registered on 1st March 1975.
