Tram hit by HGV in Oldham

The recent spate of collisions involving trams and other road vehicles has continued with the latest tram victim being Manchester Metrolink 3052 which was struck in Oldham Town Centre.

Occurring on Tuesday 29th October at approximately 1000, 3052 was hit by a lorry on King Street in Oldham as it was working a service towards East Didsbury.

Fortunately on this occasion no injuries were reported and it was confirmed that there was only minimal damage to both the tram and lorry.

Services were suspended between Oldham Mumps and Freehold until around 1050 when it was possible for the full service to resume again.

    Again, another driver, this time of an HGV unable to safely drive carefully around the tram tracks.
