Around the World in Trams: Budapest 1365 & 1401

We end the month of October’s “Around the World in Trams” with another view coming from Budapest in Hungary.

And this time we have two trams for the price of one! Both these trams – once again in the usual yellow and white livery – are both products of the early 1970s when they were built for Budapest by Ganz in the city. In total 154 trams were built by Ganz and both of these started off life as GCSM2 models before they were later CSMG2s.

On the far side is 1365 which was built in 1971 and nearer to us is 1401, built in 1972. They are both now – and have been since 2006 – based out of Kelenfold depot in the city. On this day they both seem to be working on route 2.
