The Stourbridge Shuttle, which connects Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town and uses a Parry People Mover to do so, has recently welcomed local MP Cat Eccles and Cllr Jason Griffin to discuss the future of Shuttle operations as well as their vision for the proposed “Dasher” project which would connect Stourbridge with Canal Street.
Steve Jasper, Pre Metro Director, hosted the meeting at the Shuttle depot and gave the two politicians a tour of the facility. They also rode the Shuttle to view a potential new depot site alongside the current branchline.
The visit also saw the group explore potential station stops along the proposed Dasher route which would link Stourbridge and Brierley Hill. This connection would benefit local commuters and businesses by improving accessibility and boosting economic activity.
Steve Jasper said: “We’re thrilled with the positive response and strong support from Cat Eccles MP and Councillor Jason Griffin. Their enthusiasm marks a significant step forward as we work to expand transport options for the people of Stourbridge.”
The Pre Metro team hope to welcome both Cat Eccles and Jason Griffin to visit the Revolution VLR test site where they will find out more about the next generation of rolling stock that could potentially connect Stourbridge and Dudley in the future.
