A trip to… South Yorkshire Supertram

In this pictorial article we head to the South Yorkshire Supertram system for a selection of photos taken during a visit on 10th October 2024. This was the week when 118 re-entered service with new advertising vinyls and that features here along with a few other of the Siemens-Duewag in service in the city centre. The photographer is Steven Hughes.

  • And if you like your pictures to move then Steven also shot some video during this trip and that can be viewed on YouTube at https://youtu.be/8ZxsVMedJeA

121 is showing evidence that its had a replacement front bumper as the red of the former Stagecoach livery is not there and the swoosh is also missing at the bottom. The tram is seen here at Cathedral with a Yellow route service to Meadowhall.

116 is one of the trams which carries non-fleet livery with it having a promotional livery for the various Park and Ride sites across the network. Its just approaching Cathedral bound for Malin Bridge on the Blue route.

The newest livery at the time of this visit to be seen was this all over advert for e-on on 118. The all red tram is working to Meadowhall on High Street in this view.

120 received this special inclusivity livery last year and still brings some extra colour to the network to this day. Yellow route service to Meadowhall approaching Fitzalan Square.

The Purple route (Monday to Saturday) now has just a single tram every hour and that requires just one tram to be diagrammed. On this day that was 108 which is seen here passing the Easy Hotel on High Street on its way to Herdings Park. (All Photographs by Steven Hughes, 10th October 2024)
