We now move a long way south from our photos of Glasgow as we’re now in Seaton for more “Picture in Time”.
This photo was taken in June 1984 and shows 12 standing outside of Riverside Depot on the access track into the depot building. This scene can relatively easily be identified as to how things are today although the past 40 years have seen significant development with most recently a new stop being constructed here so you can enjoy your picnic whilst viewing activity on the Axe Estuary.
Whereas the surrounds may be recognisable the tram isn’t particularly! 12 has been the most rebuilt of all trams at the Seaton Tramway and this is its second (of three) conditions. Starting off life as single decker in 1966, it was rebuilt in 1978 as a double decker, more than doubling its capacity. Its current condition came in 1999 when it became an open top Feltham!
