In Pictures: Trams queue on Talbot Road

Friday 6th September saw a queue of trams (if two trams is a queue?!) on Talbot Road in Blackpool as engineers were attending to the signals at the junction with the Promenade tramway.

At the time the photographer was in the vicinity of Talbot Square there were two trams waiting for the signals to allow them back onto the Promenade line, both coming from North Station. 014 was operating a service to Fleetwood Ferry whilst 015 was on a working south to Starr Gate (of course all services now go via North Station during the day).

014 waits for permission to proceed in Talbot Square. The single platform for trams going up to North Station is just visible on the left hand side.

Further along Talbot Road and we see 015 which is working to Starr Gate.

Engineers working on the signals shielded the late summer sunshine by a nice orange umbrella. (All Photographs by Peter Dockerty, 6th September 2024)
