Car and tram collision on Ashton line

Manchester Metrolink services were disrupted between Ashton-under-Lyne and Velopark for a time on Sunday 18th August after a car and tram collided close to The Snipe. The tram involved was 3083 which was bound for Ashton.

In a statement Transport for Greater Manchester said: “Transport for Greater Manchester and the Metrolink operator KeolisAmey Metrolink, this morning, worked with emergency services in response to a car and tram collision at Audenshaw. No injuries have been reported.”

3083 suffered minor damage in the collision with its front bumper being removed.

Whilst the incident was dealt with there were no trams between Velopark and Ashton-under-Lyne for around two hours from mid-morning.
