Edinburgh Trams could be celebrating another award win this October after it was announced that they have become one of three nominations for UK Tram Operator of the Year at the National Transport Awards.
Judges of the National Transport Awards, which are organised by Transport Times, have been impressed by Edinburgh Trams’ tireless efforts to ensure communities along the route receive maximum benefit from the expansion of the network.
Speaking about the nomination, Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, said: “Over the past few years we’ve racked up quite a collection of awards and commendations from colleagues across the transport industry. As well as recognising the hard work and dedication of the Edinburgh Team, they also reflect the fact that Edinburgh’s tram network is considered one of the very best systems of its kind. We’re delighted that we are again in contention for a prestigious accolade and to be flying the flag for our great city at another high-profile national event.”
They will be up against Blackpool Transport and West Midlands Metro for the award. The announcement will be made at the National Transport Awards in London on 3rd October.
