This year’s Light Rail Summit – organised by UKTram and being held in Birmingham on 19th September – will focus on safety and security on UK light rail networks it has been announced.
The Summit will see the steps being taken to protect networks from the threat of terrorist attack being highlighted.
Stewart Satchell, a Counter Terrorism Security Advisor (CTSA) from British Transport Police, will be one of the key speakers at the event. He will explain how CTSAs provide supporters for operators to help them comply with DfT security requirements
Also speaking will be Louise Barry, Head of Customer and Growth at KeolisAmey Metrolink, who will demonstrate how virtual reality is helping them, in partnership with the Travel Safe Partnership, to tackle anti-social behaviour.

These presentations will offer a fascinating insight into the steps being taken to keep customers and employees safe in the face of numerous security challenges.”
The UK Light Rail Summit takes place at the Institute of Engineering and Technology’s conference facilities in Austin Court, Birmingham. Its free to attend for UKTram members.
