West Midlands Metro will be supporting Acorn’s Children’s Hospice as their Chairty of the Year for 2024 following an internal selection process.
Vicki Bennett, West Midlands Metro Customer Service Manager, said: “Last year we raised an impressive £763 for MacMillan Cancer Support through various fundraising activities. In the past three years, we’ve focused our efforts on one charity a year chosen by a vote among all colleagues. This year all fundraising events will benefit Acorns’ invaluable care and services for children and their families.”
The charity is renowned of its specialised palliative care services for local children and families, offering various forms of support, including respite care, therapy and bereavement assistance.
Rich Burke, Partnerships Fundraising Manager for Acorn’s Children’s Hospice, said: “We are deeply honoured to be chosen as West Midlands Metro Charity of the Year for 2024. This partnership embodies the spirit of community and underscores the importance of collective support in our mission to provide comfort and care to children and families in the West Midlands during challenging times. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team at Metro to raise awareness and to support the fundraising activities.”
