It’s that time of the week again when we bring you a round-up of when and where you can travel on heritage trams across the UK. Once again if you know of any errors or omissions please let us know and we will make the change. All the information here is given in good faith but you are advised to check before travelling any significant distance with the organisations involved.
Beamish, The Living Museum of the North
Open daily between 1000 and 1700 with trams operating each day round the Museum circuit.
Birkenhead Heritage Tramway
Trams continue to operate Saturdays and Sundays. First tram from Woodside Ferry at 1300, last tram departs Woodside Ferry to Depot at 1630.
Black Country Living Museum
Opening daily between 1000 and 1700. One tram will normally be in service each day.
Blackpool Tramway
The Heritage Tram service will next operate on Sunday 23 June (Totally Transport day) when four trams (two in morning and two in afternoon) will be in use. It then operates on Sunday 21 July (in connection with the Fleetwood Transport Festival) and the August Bank Holiday weekend before reverting to running nightly during the lluminations.
Crich Tramway Village
Now open daily until 3rd November. Museum is open between 1000 and 1730 with trams operating daily.
Douglas Horse Tramway
Operating daily until Sunday 15 September. First tram departs Strathallan at 0900 with last departure at 1800.
East Anglia Transport Museum
The Museum is open every Thursday (1300-1700), Saturday (1300-1700) and Sunday (1100-1700, except during special events) until the end of September.
Heaton Park Tramway
Open every Sunday until the end of September with trams running 1200-1700.
Manx Electric Railway
Operating daily until Sunday 6th October. As a result of another bus strike a revised service is being operated until the end of the first week of June:
Timetable F (16 journeys in each direction with first tram from Douglas at 0910 and last at 1740) will operate on Saturday 1, Monday 3, Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 & Friday 7 June.
A special timetable (23 departures from Douglas between 0910 and 1740) will run on Sunday 2 and Tuesday 4 June.
Timetable C (10 departures from Douglas between 0910 and 1640) resumes operation on Saturday 8 June and will run until Friday 19 July. Evening services will also run Wednesday 12, Friday 14, Wednesday 19, Friday 21, Saturday 22, Wednesday 26, Friday 28 June, Wednesday 10, Friday 12, Wednesday 17 and Friday 19 July.
Seaton Tramway
Open daily until the start of November. The blue timetable is now in operation until Friday 7 June (trams every 20 minutes between 1000 and 1620 from Seaton and 1030 and 1650 from Colyton).
Snaefell Mountain Railway
Operating daily until Sunday 6 October with timetable F in operation Saturday 1-Friday 7 June (every half hour between 0945 and 1545). Timetable C resumes on Saturday 8 June (every half hour between 1015 and 1545) and runs until Friday 19 July. Evening services will run on Wednesdays and Fridays in June plus Saturday 22 June.
Summerlee – The Museum of Scottish Industrial Life
The Museum is open daily between 1000 and 1600.
