Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 112

In this article we take another “Lockdown Walk” in Sheffield showing the Supertram system in action.

The section of tramway through Hillsborough to both Malin Bridge and Middlewood was the last to open on the Supertram network (until the Tram-Train service opened in 2018) with public services commencing on 23rd October 1995. This saw trams running beyond Shalesmoor for the first time and came 19 months and two days after the first public services had got underway out to Meadowhall.

This photo shows 112 in the Hillsborough area when working a Yellow route service bound for Meadowhall. The tram hasn’t long left Hillsborough Park and will soon come to Hillsborough which will be the first chance for any passengers to swap to the Blue route.
