In this edition of “Lockdown Walks” we take a rare look at a more heritage tram as we find ourselves in Blackpool.
Although Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours haven’t run since the start of November when the last Illumination Tours for 2020 operated, in the early weeks of 2021 there have been a few heritage trams out on the Prom with “B fleet” Balloon 700 often seen out and about on driver familiarisation runs to ensure that when the green light is given for a return services can resume.
Here we see Balloon 700 on North Promenade approaching Wilton Parade southbound. Although the tram has been spotted out recently on driver familiarisation on this occasion there was just one crew member on board. (Photograph by Tony Armitage, 8th February 2021)
