As we reported earlier in the week Tram-Train daylight testing has now got underway along the Network Rail line to Rotherham as preparations step up a pace for the start of the pilot service sometime later this year. 399 202 was the Citylink vehicle chosen for the task on the second day of testing – 17th July – as the below images from Stuart Cooke show.
399 202 heads through the platforms at Rotherham Central. This is the high floor mainline railway platforms with the low floor section just beyond the Tram-Train.
202 continues along the line seen here on the approach to the terminus at Rotherham Parkgate
Here we see 202 sitting at the Parkgate terminus.
Work is also continuing on the construction of platforms at Rotherham Central.
And here’s the other platform at a similar stage of construction still waiting the top surface. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 17th July 2018)
