Heaton Park get set for a Tramtastic day

The latest special event to take place at the Heaton Park Tramway in Manchester will be a Tramtastic Day Out on Sunday 2nd July with an intensive tram service the main feature of the day.

A two tram service will run between 1100 and 1300 (using Hull 96 and Blackpool 619) before Manchester 765 joins in at 1300 with a three tram parade running from Lakeside to Middleton Road. All three will then remain in service using the normal multiple tram operating pattern until 1600 when 765 will again come out of service allowing the other two to complete the last hour of the day.

Aside from the tram service there will be a special Manchester transport line-up outside Lakeside Depot with 765 joined by fellow tram 173 alongside the Manchester Horse Bus.

The Manchester Model Tram Group will also be in attendance running their big trams. They will be based up at the farm centre in Heaton Park alongside the market. You can find more out about the Manchester Model Tram Group by visiting their website at http://www.manchestersbigtrams.co.uk.

And if all that isn’t enough for you there will also be film screenings of times gone by in the Middleton Road Depot where you should also be able to see recent progress on the overhaul of Stockport 5.
