Branch Line Society to visit Heaton Park Tramway

On Saturday 7th September the Branch Line Society will be visiting the Heaton Park Tramway for an “all available powered lines” charter which it is hoped will include some recently laid new track. Stockport 5, Blackpool 623 and Manchester 765 (subject to progress on required work) will be made available for the evening which will commence at 1800 and should be over by 2030.

It is planned that the tour will include all powered and safely available tracks including all of the double track section, the two sidings at the depot and Middleton Road, the track to the existing depot, all three sidings at Lakeside as far as it possible to safely travel over them and subject to new construction progress, the track to the brand new depot which is currently under construction.

To enjoy this evening charter Branch Line Society members can get tickets for £13 per person and any non-members will be able to purchase tickets for £15. As well as travelling on the three trams which should be made available for service other trams from the collection will be available for viewing and a stock list, souvenir ticket and track map will be provided as usual on a Branch Line Society tour.

Bookings can be made promptly in writing, with accompanying payment (by cheque to Branch Line Society or by card payment – details on how to pay by card can be found at http://www.branchline.org.uk) to Kev Adlam, 53 Kemble Close, Wistaston, Crewe, CW2 6XN.
