Heaton Park Tramway joins Facebook

In a bid to keep interested parties better informed of developments at the tramway, a brand new official Facebook page has been launched for the Heaton Park Tramway. Although a Facebook group, entitled ‘Friends of the Heaton Park Tramway’, has existed for some time, this was never considered official and with ‘pages’ gaining popularity over ‘groups’, the tramway has followed in the footsteps of British Trams Online by making the switch.

Interest in the new official page has already been very impressive, and it is rapidly approaching 100 ‘likes’ after less than 24 hours online! This proves how much interest there is in this rapidly expanding museum tramway at present, and hopefully indicates that 2013 will be an exciting year at Heaton Park. With a new depot and more trams expected later this year, the future has never looked brighter for this preserved line than it does right now.

Online activity is not just confined to Facebook though, as one of the regular volunteers at Heaton Park has also recently launched a new Twitter page to keep members of the popular social media website up to date on the latest goings-on at the park. Of course, major developments will continue to be provided here on British Trams Online, but for more frequent updates both of these pages come highly recommended.
