Seaton Tramway on a bus!

All over advertising liveries on trams are often a contentious issue for many enthusiasts but this is a story with a difference as we are featuring an advert on a bus of a tramway! The tramway in question is the Seaton Tramway and the bus is a 1980 Bristol VR open top bus which is operated by Mendip Mule and will be used as part of a unique tram and bus offer this summer.

The Bristol VR open top bus will be joined by a very rare Bristol built 1971 single decker – which is England’s only single deck open topper in service – in providing the service for the Mendip Mule Motorbus season for 2016. A variety of different services will run between 29th May and 8th September titled “The Devon Donkey” and the “Axe Valley Ass”, although there are a number of different routes which will run on different days. Joint tickets can be purchased which will allow travel by tram and bus. Full details of the routes are on the Seaton Tramway website at http://www.tram.co.uk/mendip-mule-motorbus-fares.

A bus picture how brave 🙂

Apparently this has made it to the Facebook page of Medip Mule – I don’t do Facebook so it’s word of mouth, plus the link Gareth gave although on line is officially launched tomorrow – so BTOL are first again with the news.

Ah but the bus it advertising a Tramway so I cant see any problems and the joint ticketing sounds good as well
