2013 Heaton Park Tramway calendar goes on sale

Summer is here – not that you would always know it judging by the recent weather – and so it is of course time to start thinking about a calendar for 2013! For the second year running, British Trams Online regular Andrew Waddington has created a brand new calendar for the Heaton Park Tramway which is on sale from the tramway’s gift shop, and can also now be ordered online using PayPal.

The new calendar builds on last year’s success and features one large picture and two smaller images for each month. All of the park’s current tram fleet are illustrated, as well as planned future additions such as Blackpool Railcoach 680 and Balloon 702, and past visitors including ‘Princess Alice’ 706. MTMS-owned cars Leeds 6 and Manchester L53 are shown in operation at Beamish in the period town area. Finally there are some unusual archive shots of Blackpool & Fleetwood ‘Box’ 40 in service at Heaton Park, and a rare shot of Blackpool works car 752 coupled to tower wagon 749; both of these works vehicles of course survive in preservation.

Copies of the new calendar can be bought from the tramway at a price of £7.50 each, or alternatively by mail order they cost £9.00 (including postage costs). ALL money from calendar sales will go to the Manchester Transport Museum Society to support the operation and development of the Heaton Park Tramway. To suppport the heritage tramway and purchase a copy online, please go to http://www.heatonparktramway.org.uk/
