London Trams services to and from Beckenham Junction were delayed on Tuesday 1st September 2026 after a road vehicle hit a bridge requiring a safety inspection of the structure ahead of trams being allowed to travel over it again.
The bridge which was hit was at Birkbeck and as a result no trams ran between Avenue Road and Harrington Road on the single line section of tramway that leads to and from Beckenham Junction.
The bridge strike was first reported just after 1500 with trams able to start running again not long after 1630.
