Although Edinburgh Trams may still be confined to running between the Airport and West End – latest estimates from the Council suggest the end of August at the earliest for a reopening of Princes Street – it will still be the best way to get to a series of concerts taking place at the Royal Highland Showgrounds later this month.
Summer Sessions at the Royal Highland Showgrounds will see artists such as Biffy Clyro, The Cure, Florence + The Machine, Lorde, Deftones, and The Prodigy all appear. There will also, for the first time, be a new family friendly festival, Heather on the Hill. Concerts take place between Friday 21st and Saturday 29th August.
Ingliston Park and Ride tramstop is a 15-20 minute walk from the Royal Highland Showgrounds with clearly signposted safe walking routes between the two.
Extra trams will run after the concerts end to get people back towards the city centre.

“No matter how you are making your way to the Showgrounds, we’re urging concertgoers to plan their travel in advance as public transport services and roads are set to be busy due to the gigs, festival season, and diversions and road closures that are in place.”
