Its another pictorial article as this time we follow Steven Hughes as he takes a trip to the National Tramway Museum. Photos are included from two visits on Friday 7th and Sunday 9th August 2026.

Friday 7th August saw two of the lesser used trams in service and that included the stunning £500,000 restoration tram – London County Council 1 “Bluebird”. It is seen here at Town End with fellow LCC tram, 106 alongside (a tram which has seen plenty of use this year thanks to the sunny weather).

The third tram in service was Blackpool Jubilee Car 762, which has seen frequent use (normally on a Friday) during the summer holidays so far. With its Pleasure Beach vinyls still in situ it too is at Town End and is also joined by LCC 106.

The workshop had a very Blackpool feel on this day with the Electric Locomotive joining current projects Brush Railcoach 298 and Centenary 645. A lot has been written on 645’s conversion but quietly alongside that work good progress continues to be made on 298.
