In Pictures: Edinburgh Trams 252 receives Edinburgh International Festival advert

Although we may not have got the usual Royal Highland Show on an Edinburgh tram this year another regular advertiser has returned with 252 receiving a partial advertising livery for the Edinburgh International Festival.

First noted in service on 24th July 2026, 252’s advert features the standard Edinburgh International Festival colours of yellow and black. As its only a partial advert the white of the fleet livery is still visible on large parts of the tram with only adverts covering the full height on two sections and the rest of the tram being above windows only.

After having advertised CR Smith for over eight years, 252 is now having commitment problems as after an ad for Omni Centre between April and June, and then Scotland Football from June 2026, its moved onto its third new design of 2026!

252 is seen coming round the curve from the Airport to Ingliston Park and Ride with a service which will only be able to go as far as West End.

Here we see a bit more detail of the advert.

And then we see the tram pausing at Ingliston before continuing its journey. (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 24th July 2026)
