We often see short-lived adverts with contracts lasting a few months (if that) but then occasionally there are some trams which have a long association with one advert. It is the latter category that 3080 falls into having advertised USDAW since March 2023, or at least it did until recently with the familiar purple vinyls finally being removed from the tram.
The advert on 3080 had been the longest current advert on the Metrolink network and had recently clicked over into its fourth year. But rather than the contract lasting for a full extra year it has now come to an end with the advert being removed during June 2026.
3080 is now back in fleet livery for the first time since March 2023. This USDAW advert was the first (and only) advert that it has carried.
USDAW also previously advertised on 3064 between August 2021 and December 2022.
Its also not the only tram to see advertising vinyls removed with two others now back in fleet livery. 3094 no longer has wings as it has lost its advert for Red Bull (applied in May 2026) whilst you won’t have to tap and go 3119 anymore as its advert promoting contactless payments on the network has also gone.
For 3119 this advert – which has been its only one so far – was added to the tram in March 2025, although recent weeks have seen it running with plain panels in part presumably because of a scrape at some point.
The longest serving advert on the network now is that on 3079 for the Bee Network which has been in place since September 2023. But if you want the longest lived commercial advert that would be for Trafford Palazzo on 3089 (October 2025)
