As we see with the regular updates that UKTram provide they are all for encouraging people across the sector, and to this end they have been reaffirming their commitment to Women in Transport whilst they have also welcomed yet another company into their member community.
UKTram are now into their fourth year of partnership with Women in Transport, the organisation who aim to create a more diverse, inclusive and representative industry. At the recent AGM of Women in Transport updates were given about their initiatives which are designed to support transport professionals at all stages of their careers, including professional development programmes, mentoring opportunities and regional networking events.
During the AGM, the Advance Mentoring Programme was highlighted. This provides personalised mentoring and peer support, helping participants build confidence, develop professionally and expand their industry network.
One of the participants this year is Chelsea Branch, UKTram Digital Marketing and Communications Manager. Chelsea said: “I’ve taken so much from the mentoring programme already. If I look back to where I was when I first started compared with where I am now, I feel far more connected to the sector and much more confident in myself.”
UKTram has continued to support Women in Transport through a range of initiatives over recent years. James Hammett, UKTram Managing Director, said: “Women in Transport continues to do fantastic work creating opportunities for people to connect, develop and progress within the industry. The mentoring programme has become an important part of supporting future talent and it’s been fantastic to see the positive impact it has had on Chelsea and so many others. We’re proud of our partnership with Women in Transport and look forward to continue to support their work in the years ahead.”
