For the first time in 2026 we feature some photos here taken on the Isle of Man. Geoff Pickles is the photographer who has captured these images which feature both the Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway on 26th April 2026.

The Guinness Book of World Records holder as the oldest operational tram to still be running on its home tramway is already out and about again in 2026 (the year that it reaches the grand old age of 133 years!). We see 1 here at Ramsey as the trolley is turned on the car.

Still at Ramsey we now see Winter Saloon 21 with trailer 37 all ready for their next departure back south towards Laxey and Douglas.

Moving south to Laxey and our first glimpse at the Snaefell Mountain Railway where 4 is waiting out time before it sets off for the Summit.

And then we see Snaefell Mountain Railway 5 sitting at Laxey. The temporary steps now used to help people board can be seen on the rear entrance of the car.

A colourful combination at Laxey with Tunnel Car 7 in its Blue and Ivory livery (which has seen a repaint over the winter) whilst Trailer 50 is in the nationalised green and white livery. On this day 7 was been driven by the MER’s only female driver. (All Photographs by Geoff Pickles, 26th April 2026)
