In Pictures: One off, one on – advert changes on West Midlands Metro

It has certainly been a busy few changes for the West Midlands Metro and their advertising liveries, as following quickly behind 50’s ad for L’Oreal comes news of one set of vinyls being stripped as another new advert is seen too.

We start this round-up with news that 47 has lost its yellow vinyls for itv. This advert was added to the tram in January 2026 but as February starts to reach its conclusion that advertising campaign is obviously at an end as on 24th February 2026 it was seen back in service in plain blue once more.

But the total number of adverts doesn’t change as 43 has become the 13th of the Urbos100 trams to have carried some form of external advertising. This advert is in a similar style to that seen earlier this year for the West Midlands Business Festival, in that it only covers the centre three sections of the tram rather than the whole thing.

The advert is for Business Growth West Midlands and wants businesses to take their business in the right direction. The similarities with the West Midlands Business Festival advert doesn’t end in the fact that its just the central three sections which have vinyls, but also by the fact that one side is purple and the other orange!

The 13 Urbos100s which have had an advert are 39, 42, 43, 44, 45, 47, 50, 51 (two), 52, 53, 56, 57 (three) and 58 (two).

Plain blue is the order of the day for 47 again as its seen at Bull Street.
