Dublin’s extensive Luas network has continued to show its popularity and importance as part of the transport network in the Irish capital city but like many other transport networks around the world that has come with the risk of anti-social behaviour. The network has now launched a new “We love it when you” campaign which asks people to be considerate of others when travelling on the trams.
The campaign gives a number of guidelines they are encouraging all passengers to follow to ensure everyone can have a pleasant experience on board the trams.
- Keep our spaces clean: remember to take litter away with you. There are bins provided at all stops on the tramway.
- Keep the noise level down: be mindful of others by keeping the volume of music and conversations at a reasonable level.
- Respect priority areas: be aware of priority seating and wheelchair areas and keep them available for those who need them
- Be mindful of space: if you are standing at busy times, remove your backpack and place luggage or large bags between your feet. This creates extra space and also prevents bumping into others and blocking doors.
- Keep your feet off seats: seats on the trams should not be used as footrests as its unhygienic and can make seats dirty or wet for the next passenger. In addition they ask that children do not climb on seats for their safety.
Luas hope that by following this simple guidelines it will make sure everyone can enjoy a comfortable journey.
