We have another edition of “Trams &” for you as we feature a picture from Beamish.
This is a fairly typical picture taken at Beamish’s Entrance stop and shows a tram heading round the tramway in a clockwise direction as a bus goes round the other way. The tram probably needs very little introduction as it has been a stalwart of the service at Beamish for many years. It is of course Blackpool 31 which is always popular in good weather and has also made a couple of trips back to Blackpool since restoration as well as one to the Heaton Park Tramway.
The bus was built in 1987 and is a replica of a 1913 Daimler CC, a number of which were used by Gateshead & District Tramways to provide feeder services to the tramway.
