There will be changes to the tram service on the West Midlands Metro during the morning and early afternoon of Sunday 19th January 2025, with work set to take place joining the current Birmingham-Wolverhampton line with the forthcoming Black Country line at Wednesbury.
There will be no trams between Edgbaston Village and Wednesbury Great Western Street until 1300 with a 12 minute frequency operating between Wednesbury Great Western Street and Wolverhampton Station only.
During the works the following alternative options are available:
- National Express bus service 79 between Wednesbury Bus Station and West Bromwich
- National Express bus service 79A between Wednesbury Parkway and West Bromwich (this is a dedicated tram replacement service that serves Wednesbury Parkway, Wednesbury Bus Station, Black Lake and West Bromwich Bus Station only, every 30 minutes)
- National Express bus service 74 between West Bromwich and Birmingham City Centre
- All National Express bus services between Colmore Row and Edgbaston Village
- West Midlands Railway services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham (including any station served along this route, between these stations)
A normal tram service along the length of the tramway between Edgbaston Village and Wolverhampton Station resumes from 1300.
