2024 a record breaking year for East Anglia Transport Museum

Not only did the East Anglia Transport Museum have cause to celebrate after walking away with three awards at the British Trams Online Tram of the Year 2024 contest but even more importantly they were also able to look back at a year which turned out to be a record-breaking one for the museum located in Carlton Colville, Suffolk.

For the third year in a row, the museum welcomed the most visitors they have recorded with an excellent 22,530 people going through the gates at the museum. Starting off from the award-winning Blackpool Tram Event over the Easter Weekend through until Ride the Lights on December weekends it was a year where the public continued to visit the ever developing museum. This included nearly 2,600 visitors for the six days of Ride the Lights during December.

The museum is now closed to the public for the winter and will reopen on Sunday 6th April 2025. It will also have extended opening hours on normal operating days between 1100 and 1630. A full programme of special events will be announced later this month.
