2025 looks set to be another busy year at the Crich Tramway Village, home of the National Tramway Museum, with the usual mix of normal operating days and special events.
The museum will reopen to the public from 15th March 2025 with exact opening dates and times to follow shortly. 2025 admission prices are also to be confirmed this month.
Special events wise, the highlight of the enthusiast calendar will again be Tram Weekend. As the name suggests this will again be taking place over two days with Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September set in the diary. Obviously its too early to predict exactly what the themes of the weekend will be but expect an intensive tram service and the display of stored trams around the depot for photos.
After the success last year of An Adventure in Time and Light which included the operation of trams after dark, there will be another premium event on the second weekend of November. Titled Tramlight, the event promises that the “Tramway Village turns magical by Tramlight as darkness falls”. There will be entertainment and characters for the event which will be an afternoon and evening event. That will be Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November.
There will be Model Trams operating in the Great Exhibition Hall every month between March and August. This includes the Model Tramway, Bus and Railway Exhibition on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August.
Other popular returning events will include Seaside Fun (Saturday 24th to Friday 30th May), Classic Motorcycle Day (Sunday 6th July) and Steampunk Weekend (Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September).

What has happened to the 1940s week ends? I believe the last one was 2023.
I am not complaining. Just wondered what the rationale behind no longer holding the event is.
Insufficient volunteers when required to organise and run them!
