In Pictures: Horse trams to join the Bee Network?!

With bus franchising having been introduced in Greater Manchester under the Bee Network brand its become a familiar name for public transport in the region. But who knew that horse trams were also going to join the network!

Obviously, they’re not but you may be fooled into thinking that would be the case as during a visit to the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport, Manchester Eades Reversible Horse Tramcar L53 was seen with the addition of small Bee Network branding!

L53 is currently on loan at the museum from the Heaton Park Tramway. It moved there earlier this year to take part in some of the special events which took place celebrating 200 years of Britain’s Buses having spent many years on display at the Bury Museum of Transport.

L53 is seen here at the museum in its display area. The Bee Network branding can be seen just above the plaque celebrating its Heritage Railway Association award win. (Photograph by Trevor Hall, 9th November 2024)
