Its time for another look at the Tyne and Wear Metro performance poster – and the latest one contains some good and some bad news for travellers on the network.

The big changeover of the fleet of trains on the Tyne and Wear Metro has continued over the past few days as we’ve seen two more of the original Metrocars go on a final journey to the scrap merchants.

There are now just nine more of the new Tyne and Wear Metro trains to arrive in the northeast following the delivery of another three over two nights on 14th and 15th November 2025.

There will be no Tyne and Wear Metro service between Regent Centre and Airport for five days at the end of November with rail replacement works set to take place from Wednesday 26th and Sunday 30th November 2025.
