Another edition of “15 Years Apart” for you today as we see a tram which has swapped locations in that time.
30th August 2008 and 619 was still part of the tram fleet in Blackpool, being used for specials on nicer weather days which included this day which was the first Saturday of that year’s illuminations. The tram was in the brown and cream livery as a style which was to mimic the Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad house style. On this day it was seen at North Pier on the way south to Pleasure Beach.
By 2023 and 619 has found a new home at the Heaton Park Tramway in Manchester. It operated in the brown livery for some time before being repainted red and white and also for a time carried the number 7. Returned to 619 again and now having gone back through the works it was relaunched into service at a special opening day of the season event on 26th March 2023. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
