More trams for Royal Highland Centre concerts

Edinburgh Trams will be running extra trams to help get people back from a series of concerts at the Royal Highland Centre over the next couple of weeks. This is in addition to the late night trams for the Edinburgh Festival and will mean the later services currently running on Fridays and Saturdays will also be out other days of the week.

During the gigs at the Royal Highland Centre – starting from Friday 19th August – after the usual last tram at 2330 there will be a 20 minute service until midnight. By our calculations that will mean one of two extra trams but every little helps!

Lea Harrison, Edinburgh Trams Managing Director, said: “With an exciting array of artists and performers from different backgrounds, this series of concerts promises to thrill audiences to the max. Surely, roads around the venue will be extremely busy, and we want to provide a convenient alternative to travelling by car by running a later timetable following the final encores. Trams will serve all stops, including Ingliston Park & Ride, and tram tickets will be accepted at no extra cost.”

Fridays and Saturdays will continue to see trams running until 0130 for the duration of the Festival.
