In Pictures: Nottingham Express Transit

With thanks to Mervyn Williams we take a quick look at Nottingham Express Transit. Views are provided of two of the non standard fleet liveried trams in operation and some images of the latest progress with the Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge over Nottingham Railway Station.

204 approaches Station Street. This tram carries an advertising livery for the tramway it operates on telling people to "Glide into Nottingham"

211 carries a special livery for the Armed Forces Day held in Nottingham at the end of June. The tram is seen here on Terrace Street.

A view of the Station Street terminus as at the end of June. The walkway linking the stop to the adjacent railway station has now been removed as preparations continue for the construction of phase two which will see tram tracks running over the road and station.

The Karlsruhe Friendship Bridge in place over the station. This will eventually carry trams on to the new lines to Chilwell and Clifton. (All photos: Mervyn Williams)
