UKTram renew partnership with Women in Transport

UKTram have confirmed that they have renewed their partnership with Women in Transport, for a fourth consecutive year. The renewed partnership demonstrates UKTram’s ongoing commitment to attracting and developing talent in the light rail sector and supporting initiatives that help people succeed in their careers.

Over the past four years UKTram and Women in Transport have collaborated on events, campaigns and knowledge sharing activities to promote diversity and encourage more people to pursue careers in transport.

James Hammett, UKTram Managing Director, said: “The future of light rail depends on attracting and developing talented people from all backgrounds. Women in Transport plays a vital role in this, and its commitment to building a more inclusive and representative industry continually inspires us at UKTram to think about what more we can do to support this. We’ve seen first-hand the impact the programme their programmes and events have on individuals and organisations alike, and we look forward to continuing to work together for many years to come.”

Recently, Chelsea Branch, UKTram Digital Marketing and Communications Manager, joined the 2026 cohort of Women in Transport’s Advance Mentoring programme. Chelsea commented: “I’m part of this year’s Advance mentoring programme and have recently completed my fourth session. Reflecting on where I am now compared to six months ago, I can’t put into words the value and benefit it’s brought me. It’s given me confidence and the opportunity to learn from a brilliant mentor and I’m proud that UKTram continues to support Women in Transport and the important work they do to help people grow and connect across the transport sector.”
