Around the World in Trams: Milan 4732

This is another edition of “Around the World in Trams” as we take a look at a tram operating in the Italian city of Milan.

This photo was taken in Via Orifici and shows 4732 in service. This tram is one of the 4700 series of trams built by Stanga in 1956-1960, numbered 4714-4734. There is also a similar 4600 class nos. 4601-4613, also built by Stanga in 1955. No. 4732 has just come out of the paint shop and looks wonderful in the sunlight. The tram remains in use in 2026.

Although it may look like the tram has double pantographs the second collector is actually on another tram just about blocked from us by 4732.
