The month of September will see our world tour settle in Italy as we take a look at some trams running in the city of Milan.
We actually go back over 60 years ago to July 1964 for this first image as we see Peter Witt tram no. 1528 alongside the Duomo. Trams no longer run here with the whole square around the cathedral now being pedestrianised.
Although this is a black and white image take our word that the tram was in the green livery that all Italian urban transport used at the direction of Mussolini’s government in the 1930s. Trams now carry a yellow and white livery which is what the Peter Witt trams first carried when introduced.

Great old pic. I have a September 2016 pic of “close relative” 1531 taken outside of Milano Centrale station. Still extant almost 50 years later
