We have more photos from the National Tramway Museum in this article with Steven Hughes paying his latest visit to the museum on Saturday 22nd August 2026. It was another standard operating day for the museum which saw three trams in service: Blackpool 236, Sheffield 510 and London Passenger Transport Board 1622. In addition to those three service cars we also take a look at the latest progress in the Workshop and there’s an impromptu Blackpool line-up on the depot fan.
Crich Stand and some threatening looking clouds are in the background as we see Sheffield 510 arriving back in the museum street with a journey from Glory Mine.
London Passenger Transport Board 1622 is also seen in the museum street with The Red Lion on the right. In between tram and pub is a 1953 Ford Prefect. This has been visiting from local attraction The Great British Car Journey and was originally at Crich for the 1950s and 1960s event, but obviously enjoyed it so much it stayed a bit longer!

Blackpool 236 is now seen passing the Ford Prefect.
Inside the Workshop and we see Blackpool 645, Blackpool 298, Blackpool 40 and (just) the Blackpool Electric Locomotive. The whiteboard at the front of 645 continues to list the jobs needed to finish the job and it looks like number 9 has been finished as its now been scrubbed off!
With Blackpool 40 now out the way we take a look from ground level into the Workshop with 645 on the left and 298 back right.

We recently saw a tram stabled in Sheffield with the Supertram Man destination – and here is the man himself! Following Stagecoach losing the contract to operate the system he became redundant and has now been donated to the National Tramway Museum. (All Photographs by Steven Hughes, 22nd August 2026)
