LRSSB strengthen overseas partnership

The Light Rail Safety and Standards Board (LRSSB) are always trying to strengthen partnerships both within the UK and overseas as they seek to learn from other organisations on ways to improve safety on the UK’s tram and light rail networks. As part of this they have just announced closer ties with the Transit Rail Association for Canadian Contractors, Maintainers, Operations and Standards (TRACCS).

George Lowder, Chair of the LRSSB, said: “We are delighted to have entered an Affiliation Agreement with TRACCS, strengthening our growing network of overseas partnerships.

“Our agreement will provide us with insight and engagement within the Canadian Light Rail Sector and also an opportunity to explore safety projects which will be of mutual benefit in the future.

“The LRSSB’s reputation as a key driver of safety best practice is rapidly gaining traction well beyond the UK and we look forward to forging a close working relationship with TRACCS in the months ahead.”
