In Pictures: Blackpool Balloon 708 on display at Sandtoft

The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft reopened for the 2026 season in early April, and as well as providing the chance to catch-up with the trolleybuses (operating and on display), the museum also remains the home of Blackpool Balloon 708.

708 was moved to the museum in November 2023 and since then has been placed in outside storage with the aim being that it would be converted to become a Playtram, allowing younger visitors to the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft somewhere to let off a little bit of steam.

Some work has already taken place on preparing it for its new role, although limited work has taken place over the winter with the small group of volunteers at the museum having other priorities.

In the meantime, the tram remains on display for visitors to Lincolnshire.
