A trip to… Edinburgh Trams

We take another trip onto the Edinburgh Trams network as Roy Calderwood takes some photos on Wednesday 8th April 2026 at Gyle Centre and Ingliston Park and Ride.

The grassed track around Gyle Centre is still nice and green after regular rainfall over the winter as we see 275 arriving at the stop with a service from the Airport to Newhaven. The tram is carrying its revised advert for Walker’s Shortbread.

Next up we see 276 also arriving at the stop bound for Newhaven. The tram has had this full wrap for The Famous Grouse since November 2025 when it replaced its previous ad for the Edinburgh Dungeon.

We have now moved on to Ingliston Park and Ride where 277 is just departing on the final leg of its journey to the Airport. Another full wrap is seen on a tram here with 277 promoting Scottish Rugby.

Whilst there are now fewer C R Smith adverts on the trams there are still enough to make it a fairly regular occurrence that if you’re out you will see one in action. This is 259 approaching Ingliston Park and Ride with an Airport to Newhaven service.

And this trip finishes at Ingliston Park and Ride again where 274 approaches the stop from the Airport. This is probably the only place you will see a tram and air traffic control tower in one photo within the UK! (All Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 8th April 2026)
