Out and About: Dublin Luas – March 2026

As we go “Out and About” again we head to Dublin for a couple of images taken on the Luas network.

5034 is one of 15 Citadis 502 trams which were built for Luas in 2017/8 by Alstom in France. They were delivered as nine section trams as we see here. In this view the tram carries standard fleet livery but also includes adverts for Bord Gas Energy.

5005 is an older tram being part of the batch of Citadis 402 trams which were built 2009/10. This batch – which consisted of 26 trams – originally arrived from France as seven section trams but with additional capacity craved on the network they were extended to nine sections between 2019 and 2021. Its another tram with external advertising – Domino’s Pizza in this case – as it works a service to Gleann Bhride (or Brides Glen in English) which is the terminus of the Green line.
