Solent Sky Tram Event returns for 2026

The Southampton Tram Project will again be throwing open the doors to their shed in the south coast city as the Solent Sky Tram Event returns again in May 2026. And this year it looks set to be even more special as they are hoping to be able to bring 11 outside for display!

The annual event will be taking place at the Solent Sky Museum on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2026 and will give you a rare chance to get up close to the three trams in the groups’ collection which have been at their current location since 2020.

Southampton 11 is the sole surviving dome roofed enclosed double decker and has been the main focus of restoration for the Southampton Tram Project. Excellent recent progress has been made which saw it reunited with its trucks last year, shortly before the 2025 event took place.

Also in the shed are Southampton 38 (a similar tram to Southampton 45 at Crich) and Lisbon 715 (which was acquired for spares, but as is often the way has now been retained as part of their small collection of trams).

The Solent Sky Tram Event will also model tram and railway layouts as well as sales stands.

  • The Solent Sky Museum is located in Albert Road South near to Ocean Village in Southampton. It can be accessed on the Bluestar 19 bus services from Southampton Central railway station. More information on finding the museum at https://www.solentsky.org/find-us-contact.
